This is the guy that wins all the awards. You know that guy. Dennis Brochey is a 5-time winner of the Buffalo District ASE Auto Technician of the Year Award. Dennis Brochey Auto is in the Top 17 Napa Auto Care Centers in the country. Dennis is the oldest ASE tech member, having taken the first tech test in 1979. He became a Master Tech in 1989. He preaches honesty, advises everyone to not only maintain their education, but excel in their field, and is dedicated to all he holds dear. The guy is so nice you just want to hit him for fun. But you can’t because he really is all he’s cracked up to be. Dennis Brochey started as an auto mechanic working for his parents back in 1972. In the early 80s, he started going to United Garage & Gasoline Retailers of WNY meetings and was elected to the Board of Directors. After a short break from the business, Dennis returned to buy Dennis Brochey Auto in 1990. He likes to say he has always been on the ATE Board, just not in a row. He credits/blames Rod Reisdorf and Dan Walczak for getting him involved. Dennis has always believed in the goals and benefits of the Automotive Technology & Energy Group. “It’s a good organization to help advance your business in so many ways. People don’t often realize the benefits.” Dennis says he is impressed with how our members are always looking for more ways to help each other. He says, “If you just take the training classes alone, you have more than paid for your membership. Why not explore what else ATE has to offer?” Dennis’ wife of 38 years, Cathy, has worked with him since they bought the business. As he describes it, “She’s office manager, accountant and...she tells me what to do.” Their son Dennis, Jr., 36, is a nurse in Florida. Daughter Jennifer, 33, an art teacher, is mom to their granddaughter and expecting a boy August 7th. You can bet any travelling Dennis and Cathy do will be to Florida. In his spare time, Dennis Brochey helps military families in need. A
thankful military awarded Dennis Brochey and the Niagara Power Lifting
Club an American flag flown in Iraq/Afghanistan March 2009. Interestingly
enough, Dennis tried to enlist in 1974 and they turned him down. He is
color blind. He was almost drafted 2 months later, but President Nixon
intervened and stopped the draft. Dennis went on to become a hero anyway. There is more about the Niagara Power Lifting Club’s Bench Press Competition and the Automotive Technology & Energy Group involvement. |

National Automotive Parts Association Dear Dennis: We wanted to congratulate your winning of the regional nomination by your servicing NAPA Distribution Center. In addition, we wanted to make you aware that you were among the top 17 finalists in the country. As has been the trend for many years, the national winner has been nominated for multiple years prior to winning the national award. Paul has been the Stevens Point Distribution Center's winner on eight occasions. It has never been more obvious that this year's finalists truly represent the best of the best and you have every reason to be proud of your performance and your career accomplishments. However, as in many competitions, many outstanding players compete, but ultimately the judges are forced to select only one. Once again, congratulations and we encourage you to build upon the level
of excellence that you so aptly demonstrated. Both you personally and
your repair facility are in an unsurpassed category of excellence. We
encourage you to keep trying and perhaps we will see you in the winner's
spot for 2011. Best regards, |
