Bob Gliss is the name everybody knows. As Executive Director for the Automotive Technology & Energy Group, Bob is the spokesperson for the group. He is responsible for member recruitment and account management. Bob is the driving force behind health and worker's compensation insurance rates for ATE. He coordinates, negotiates, manages and maintains all facets of ATE benefits. Bob Gliss is our Go-To Guy. Having these talents and sales experience besides, there is one thing you probably don't know about Bob: he is an architectural draftsman. He lists Erie County Medical Center among his many projects. Why give up the drawing board for the art of sales? "Well, I have to admit, the money was better at the time. And sales led to management and the job as Executive Director at ATE," says Bob. "It's rewarding to have a job so all-encompassing." Bob has been with ATE since 1994, when (past president) Dave Horbinski brought him in. Meeting new people, helping members, vendor relations is what Bob Gliss is good at and enjoys. He also brings experience to the ATE Trade Show. He makes sure it goes on without a hitch from start to finish. Same holds true for the many other ATE events. Amy Gliss, Bob's wife of 30 years, is a surgical nurse at Buffalo General. Their daughter Lindsay, 26, is an RN and graduates in May as a Nurse Practitioner. Many of you met Lindsay when she helped her dad out at the last Trade Show. Bob and Amy also have twin sons. At age 22, Brian and Scott are already budding entrepreneurs with their own landscape/plowing business. Bob spends his off hours on the golf course. He also enjoys cars - from classics to drag racing. It's no wonder he's the perfect fit for the job.
